Why do I care so much about free/extremely cheap basic human rights? Why am I doing all of this?
Because the current reality doesn't work for me.
People don't have time:
to have sex.
to look for partners for sex.
to exercise so that you're healthy enough that people want to have sex with you.
to learn about what it takes to have meaningful connections with people.
to learn a different way of being that doesn't involve feeling sad for yourself and like a victim.
Note: The above is a randomly found, not verifiably sourced internet quote.
Why don't they have time?
Because they typically have to work at least 40 hours a week to pay for:
Basic human needs. Why do these cost so much? Rent or mortgage + grocery bill + health insurance + car insurance + gas =
Basically your whole paycheck.
Combine that with poor sleep habits because of no exercise and you now have a huge population with shit lives. Which really pisses me off, because then I have no one fun to play with.
The really frustrating part is that while their lives are shit, they can't really see it. Because as long as they keep up with the rat race, they'll have a nice place to live, hot water, money for drugs, alcohol, and sugar to ease that mild unease that something's really not right. And they'll have an unending stream of pictures and images guaranteed to distract and frighten them. Just turn on a television. So what you end up with is a bunch of drugged-up, (in some form or another) scared, sleep-deprived, sex-deprived people who don't have any time to actually stop and look at what's happening because the few hours that they have off from their soul-sucking jobs needs to be spent complaining, or numbing, or medicating their sad existence.
So what I want to do is design a big safety net that people can fall into when they say, "No." People will wake up and see the world for what it is, and I want to be ready to catch them when double over in nausea at the sickness of it all.
This safety net will look like a place to sleep, shower, and shit that they don't have pay for, with a source of fresh and healthy food that they can grow in their living room year round.
I plan to do this by:
1- repurposing abandoned buildings for shelter and setting up non-profits so that people can't have their houses taken away from them because they can't pay property taxes or mortgages.
2- Designing an automated food production system that can grow food year round indoors with a minimal amount of water, with no need to be an expert in aquaponics.
Then people can live securely knowing they can do all of the things in life that they've wanted to but couldn't because it wasn't, "profitable." They can quit their shit job and not know what they're going to do next and have the food and safe space necessary to figure it out.
I'm looking for people now that are on my same page and feel my same passion and want to make all of this as awesome, classy, and fun as possible along the way.
I dig it
