Watch this 13 minute Ted talk to open your eyes
What your mind does.
Your mind, my mind, our minds sabotage ourselves. If you look around, how often do you see people reaching their true potential? Living their lives fantastically? Probably not very often. There is a reason. Our minds are powerful, resilient little weasels. Hm, i'm not sure how far to get into this. I learned about it from reading Brad Blanton's books on Radical Honesty and attending Landmark-ish workshops and since then it has been noticing my mind's patterns and how i think and operate in various repeating situations. The big takeaway? You are not your mind. You are the being that notices that you have a mind that has thoughts.
We passively work to create distance in our closest relationships. We do this by not saying things and being polite and caring more about being right or worrying about your appearance or what people might think of you.
We sabotage ourselves.
