Christmas in France

It's 226 am here in Avignon, France.  Life has been a whirlwind.  I think we flew into France on the 20th, and I've been having a french adventure.  I came the closest to tears i have ever come after placing a tab slab of cheese log into my mouth at dinner.  I have never tasted cheese like this.  it was cut from a homemade cheeseloaf made here in France.  I could feel the different tastes of cheese dancing across the inside of my mouth, slow at times like honey, then speeding up like a snowboard through fresh powder,  then fast like fireworks.  My body shuddered and my chin trembled.  I felt so tender and grateful to be here and alive and sharing this moment here in motherfucking france.

France is a big deal for me.  I studied french for four terms during college and was speaking with my professor about signing on for a teaching assistant position in France after i graduated.  My life went in a different direction so to be here now, buying french cheese while speaking french, drinking french wine, eating foix gras, escargots, pate, duck, more cheese, and caviar or at least fish eggs, not sure on the differences yet.  Well, i feel like a king.

Here are a couple of photos from my time in Louhans outside of Lyon a few weeks back.
